Alaskan Guide Rifle

That is awesome , thanks for the rifle insight as well. Congrats
Also in many if not all game management areas if you wound a bear your tag is cancelled, I tell everyone a brown bear hunt for a non resident boils down to a $20k shot., 1000 tag plus 185 for the license then 10K to 20K for the guide multiple air flights overnighters on both ends you need to be an excellent shot and have a large caliber rifle. Many hunters lose several days due to weather I was lucky we had one foggy morning and trust me you don't want to be after them in those conditions. A couple of times while returning back to camp we had bear prints over those we put down on the way out. Plus we had a bluff charge by a huge female with cubs thank the good lord she was a good mother and returned to her cubs, you could lose a couple hunting days if you kill abear in defense of life.

I took a Brown Bear near dry Bay Alaska I was required to use a register guide. I used my Browning A bolt SS 375H&H Leupold 3-10 B&C with hand loaded 300 grn Swift A Frame, The guide was using a Ruger 375Ruger. I requested the guide to follow shot if the bear did not fall, The bear came out of the alders to the creeks edge range was 110 Yds, I aimed just behind the shoulders mid way and it was technically a bang flop since he fell forward into the river and never came up for air
Did you by chance recover the bullet or was is a pass through? I am going in May and still deciding between the A-Frame or the Partition.

WD the partition is of course a great bear bullet. A couple of the guides I work with have a strong preference for the AFrame. Given you are undecided ask your outfitter. Some of those guys are very opinionated.
When and where is your hunt?

Cold Bay Ak in May. I suposed to go last year but Alaska shut down the spring bear season just before my hunt.

The bear was shot at 110yds, 375 HH 300 grn Aframe center chest behind front shoulder slight angle, full pass through. DRT

Not a rifle post but another piece of the guide puzzle gear solved for me. I'm always dropping my pack to make a stalk. Plus I wanted ammo handy when I needed it. I modified my bino pack so I could carry 4 extra rounds with me that were very accessible.
