Unrelated but a question on your 44? Have you had any problems with butpad hold its shape?
I saw on at LGS that was on the rack and it was smashed and not returning to shape.

I had it in the door of my safe and it deformed. It was hitting in one spot. I had a mini mental meltdown but it sprung back all perfectly fine. I take care to make sure it is resting squarely and have had zero issues. I was shooting it off hand today and feels pretty good. It is certainly different but I believe it works well.
I used a Manners MCS-UC-Plus for a .308 and in SA it was around 19 ozs. they list the LA at 22 ozs. It is a pretty "classic" looking hunter and made a cool build. Might rattle you teeth in .300 RUM!
