I've got a 300 RUM I shoot alsoMan...I got to say...Taylorbok has this stuff figured out. Or he's been looking at my dope notes...lol
If he does this his bullets will go over the top of the paperGet the Burris XTR rings, run -20 on the front and +20 on the rear. I dial my scope all the way down. Hang 50" of paper, shoot at the top. Measure impacts. I do this at 100yds. The will give you how much you need to add in the rings. I run this on 6 rifles.
That is correct. If you put those rings on with 40 moa cant your POI will be above your point of aim.If my dope is 18.625 at 1000yrd, with a 100yrd zero with the set up I have now. Can't I do a tall target type test at 100.
Hang a tall cardboard target with a aim point and a poi point that's 18.625moa above the aim point. Would I need to multiple 18.625 by 1.047 to convert to inchs to be more accurate on my poi?
As Taylorbok stated do your tall target test - and just measure the offset, you should not have to do any math or conversions just enter the measurement into your program after its in then fire up a test or mock shoot in your balistics program and see if it is telling you that you have aim below the aim point now at the 100 yard mark then you know you're set.Kool...Thank you Taylorbok
