What actions are available with the tolerances to have prefit shouldered barrels made?

I have a R700 with the SPR bug nut system. I have found out that I would rather not fool with go gauges and setting head space (barrel but setups) on a rifle that I plan to swap barrels.

Barrel nut may not be pretty but you don't need a lathe to set up a barrel. I use a go gauge and put a piece of scotch tape on it and make a no gauge

I currently use a go gauge and no go or scotch tape for my current switch barrel set up. I am going to a shouldered setup. I do not want a barrel nut setup anymore. Simply because I just don't. Barrel nuts work great, I just dont want it anymore.

I am also upgrading to a custom action so why would I want to run a barrel nut when I can just order shouldered prefit barrels instead?

I am not knocking the barrel nut setup at all. I love mine. I would just love shouldered prefits more!

the zermatt actions are great and being able to change bolt heads is nice I have one I switch from 223 to 308 just swap barrel bolt head and insert the 308 dbm

Wow, a lot of actions. That shows what a trend it is. I've got a prefit Proof cf barrel matched to a BigHorn SR3 barrel in 300PRC @ 0.40MOA. Plus, a prefit MPA ss barrel matched with a Curtis Axiom in 6.5 PRC + 7SAUM via a Switch Lug. ~0.25MOA rifle

I also have a Curtis with switch lug in 6.5 prc next barrel will be 300 wsm works great and is as accurate as any shouldered barrels i have on many types of other actions Curtis actionsout of Hondo Texas hold real tight tolerances that allow prefits from Staraight Jacket armory among others I think Curtis may do prefits also Curtis bottom metal allows 2.975 oal in the short action

If I was doing another switch barrel I'd go Terminus again. Been running IBI barrels on mine, function and accuracy is as good as it gets.
Actually it was a bit disappointing, I like reloading and trying to accurize and tune loads and this has been the easiest setup I have ever had.

I'm going to admit I was a little preduice towards the Curtis custom actions so I ordered one it just so happened had my name on it but I also like the 60 degree bolt throw and the three locking lugs on the bolt I'm sure the Terminus actions are great also while I'm on the subject I will welcome any input on my next barrel in 300 wsm as far as throating and freebore my max mag lenght is 2.975 wouldlike to touch lands if possible with 177 gr to 181 gr hammers or absolute hammers maybe some bergers

shouldered prefit does not work for savage that would be a barrel nut setup although I have a savage with a shouldered barrel it was not a prefit
