Accurate magpro, ramshot magnum, anyone use these?

Was just perusing some load data online and found the numbers for these powders in .300 win mag quite compelling. No one seems to talk about them though. Anyone using these? What can you tell me, pros, cons, any reason they aren't popular?

Used Magpro in a Falling block 1885/270 wsm ,was Ausome , never tried it in my 300 custom win/mag ,had to much good luck with H1000 , as for Rsmagnum a friend uses it in 270 wcf with 150s&160s , the former is getting harder to get ,but where they work they work fine , good luck their worth your time Cheers !!!

morning, I use rs magnum in my 257wsm. very good powder.
very accurate load. in my 300wm I use a load of mrp.
this a very good powder in the cartridge. justme gbot tum

I've used ramshot magnum since it came out. All I use now is ramshot powders. Great velocity,accuracy , chronograph numbers and temp stability for a ball powder. Don't hear about them because most are stuck on the tried and true and wont venture out of their comfort zone.

Interesting. I do have some reservations about ball powder but also appreciate how much of it you can fit in a case if it's slow enough. I've heard it's less erosive on barrels too.

It's great stuff! I use Magnum in my 300WM after trying H1000, 7828, H4831, and RL26. Best groups of all tried. Meters like water. Very clean shooting. Found two nodes...one close to Max and one at 82g that gives me 2990fps average with a 180g Accubond. Both are sub moa and single digit numbers.

Yes very clean burning. If you also check Barnes website you'll see a temperature test they ran, only better powder for temp was h1000.

Worked up a load in my 25-06 with Magpro and was quite impressed. Was very fast, low standard deviation and excellent accuracy.

Try to find Retumbo. You won't. There is a reason why it is non-existent. I've been using MagPro and some older stock of Vit550 & 560 until Retumbo returns. As for clean burning, that is a good thing but if you are just sighting in onezytwozy's or a few shooter getting ready for hunting, and not running 100s out the tube, does it matter that much?

My hunting rig gets one or two out the tube with my same proven handloads just prior to the hunt to recheck zero then back in the safe or hard case until the event. It isn't used for comp or targeetpractice having spent oodles of cash for a precision tool.

Just saying, clean and consistant burn rate often go hand in hand which is a good thing when I am shooting 25 to 150 rounds in a session.

Hhmm I was pondering on Magpro myself yesterday since there is RL26 to be found. Wanted to try it in 6.5x55 and 25-06. Tried looking for a burn rate chart that compares the two but alas no luck.

I use MagPro in a factory 270 WSM...3140 FPS and 1/2 MOA to 800 yds...found the load on day 1 of work up- I love it!

I use Ramshot Magnum in my 338 lm. Like it better than H1000. Accurate, clean, and just plain love it. Going to try their new LRT that is suppose to be for just 338 loads. Keep shooting

magnum is a better powder imo than magpro. Magpro has delayed fire issues in some cases with some primers; I've never seen this with magnum... I still use mostly rl series powders, but I've had decent results with magnum in the 300win with heavier bullets...
