Accurate 4350 Powder

It is very similar to IMR 4350.

I would say on the average that H4350 is better for me; however, with the 105 AMAX in my .243, the AA4350 was the better. The kernels are longer with the AA powder too, fyi. If money is the reason you ask, it works just fine. If I could only have one of the 4350s, it would be H4350 hands down.

I've used AA, IMR, and Hodgdon 4350, all with excellent success. If I had to choose one, it would be Hodgdon also, with IMR second, and AA 3rd.

I know this is an old thread but I have recently picked up some Accurate 4350 for my 280AI. I have tried a few different powder and all worked but not ideal for best velocity.
Hodgdon shows a starting load of 57gr and a max of 59. I started with 57 with the intentions of going up to 59 watching for pressure.
Fist stots at 57gr were all over the place for velocity with the last one going at 3100fps! This showed massive pressure signs and opened up the primer pocket so big it fell out.
At this point I dropped 3 grains of powder and repeated the same process. Velocity were way down around 2550 for most of 10 shots with a few spiking around 2800. Some pressure signs were there. So I dropped to 53gr. Even lower velocity and pressure looks normal.

I contacted Hodgdon and they said to stick with 53 gr. Great that's not very helpful.

I gave up on it as it as it feels very dangerous. Other powders like Ramshot hunter give very consistent 2800 velocity with no spikes in velocity, no pressure and middle of the range of powder that Hodgdon listed. Also the same bullets, loading techniques, cases, primers, seating depth etc. Only the powder seams to have been responsible for the problem.

Perhaps someone has some advice?
