Absolute vs Hammer Hunter

Ive not tested the Absolutes yet so cant comment on that. I did have had 100TTSX's runnin over 3200 from a 22" barrel tho. Somebody mentioned a 109 Hammer?Oooh the Afterburner? I think has light weight and a high BC. I think this bullet range is ur money in the bank for that velocity and performance window if the AH doesnt do it for ya.

My first Xbolt HCLR 26" ran 127LRX 2990 (and 2870-80 with 2 diff 147s) so I thot id be easy 3000+ with 120s. Tried 120? sierra MK and 123SST, 124HH, 125BD2 and maybe another and never broke 2950 haha. In fairness I only tried a couple powders each.

Ive had 4 6.5 CMs, a 22", 24" and a pair of 26"s one faster than the other. From my experience the 100-116ish range is gunna do it for ya solidly if the AH doesnt do er.

My son's 6.5 CM is running a Hornady SST 123 gr at 2650 through an 18" barrel…dropped a whitetail doe in her tracks at 500 yds 2 yrs ago…I have a hard time believing she would have been any more dead if he'd have been running at 3000-3200 fps…unless his shot placement wasn't as good…
That bullet is made for the 6.5 grendel and works well in a short creedmoor where velocities are lower.

I'm currently shooting the 123 Absolute bullets in a Browning xbolt pro with a 22" barrel. With the load given by Steve. I'm running 3110fps with current load and have taken it to 3216. Using Lapua SRP virgin brass and CCI450 primers with Varget. Shooting under 1/2" at 100 yards.

You're talking apples and oranges. SSTs are great at longer ranges for cartridge. Coppers, not so much. If you're running coppers, it's best to run light and fast.
