Rem 700
30-06
24" 1-10" Twist
New Sig Brass
Federal 215M
1/8 Turn Crimp with Lee Factory Crimp Die
COAL 3.591" (0.020" jump)
Velocity at 15'
Sunny 75F
178gr AH

Hybrid 100V
57.0gr 2770fps
58.0gr 2807fps
59.0gr 2839fps
60.0gr 2853fps
61.0gr 2892fps

No pressure signs anywhere. 61.0gr was several inches out of the pressure test group at 100 yards. Pretty much out of case capacity at 61.0gr, powder maybe 1/3rd of the way up the neck. I guess I'll try Varget? Much slower velocity than I was expecting. Brand new barrel (10 rounds down it) so maybe it'll speed up?

Look at the Absolute load data. RL 16 with std LR primers has also done well. Most barrels (if they speed up) usually gain a top end of about 50 fps. Also, you may gain a little once you have fired your brass more than once.

Just worked up the following:
6.5 PRC
123AH
1X ADG brass
WLR primer
RL26
CBTO 2.358" in 24" Proof

I started with a ladder from 57.0-61.0gr in 1 gr increments, then went down to 0.5gr from 61.5-65.0gr. Amazingly no pressure all the way up, although the 64.0 and up is getting into a compressed load. Velocity as follows:

57.0gr 3086fps
58.0gr --
59.0gr 3156fps
60.0gr 3227fps
60.5gr 3224fps
61.0gr 3275fps
61.5gr 3298fps
62.0gr 3333fps
62.5gr 3349fps
63.0gr --
63.5gr 3406fps
64.0gr 3450fps
64.5gr 3480fps
65.0gr 3503fps

I shot a 5 round group at 64.5gr for a little under 1 MOA, I just wanted to get it huntable as I'll be going to shoot some axis deer in a couple weeks and want to see how they perform on game before really messing with fine-tuning. Sadly my Labradar does not like recording these higher velocity shots for some reason, I only got 2 readings out of the 5 round group so no meaningful velocity spreads to share.

Also performed a ladder with RL25, but I ran out of room in the case at 63.5gr and the velocities were consistently 150-200fps slower than the RL26....but they did shoot a tiny little bughole for the first 6 shots of the ladder.

3500 is nothing to sneeze at!

Thanks. In the Roy I'll run up a H414 and H4350 ladder and let the target and magnetospeed decide. I'll start with the IMR4064 in the CM.
When I finally get around to shooting I'll post some results.

Finally got some shooting done with the 270 Weatherby.
24" Lilja 8 twist

1/4 turn crimp Lee factory crimp die

Started with a ladder starting at 64 grains in .5 gr increments. All initial loads were 1/8 turn crimp. Velocities from Magnetospeed.
64.0 3214
64.5 3199
65.0 3192
65.5 3233
66.0 3245
66.5 3268
67.0 3327
67.5 3342
68.0 3367 *slight ejector
68.5 3392 *slight ejector
69.0 3421 *heavy ejector, heavy bolt lift, stopped here

Loaded 3 each at 66.8, 67.0, 67.2, 67.4, 67.6.
67.2 and 67.4 were both right at 1/2" at 100 yards, so picked 67.3.
loaded 4 groups of 3 at 67.3 and varied the amount of crimp - no crimp, 1/8, 1/4, 3/8.
No crimp loads were over 1", the 1/8 crimp shrunk to 1/2", the 1/4 crimp shrunk to 3/8", and the 3/8 crimp started opening to 3/4".

5 shots on the magnetospeed yielded 3160 fps average, SD 12.

For comparison, I was shooting a 140gr Accubond with an over Nosler max charge of MagPro at 3175 fps.
