Hi I put in for a elk hunt in Wyoming. While I do not expect to get picked this year,I am getting ready. I plan on taking my 375 chatt taylor and at leat one other rifle probably a 8mm06 .I do not know have far I my have to take I have in lays up that hunt the areas I put in for. The 209gn speer hot core was desgined for faster rounds so as long I watch my range it should work. Not to worried about the 375 . Any thoughts on the 8mm06?

Had a couple nice mausers , 175 sierras only.Both I had to shim rear scope base.Check by removing rear scope base clamp bolts to see if it makes a gap,most do.Been a while ,seem to recall using IMR 4350 close to 2800 fps.Shot very well,only reason I didn't keep em, I'm a lefty,that big firing lug,played hell on my thumb knuckle
I do have two or three boxes of 8mm Sierra 175's I let go cheap if ya interested.

An 8mm-06 on a converted milsurp punched out from 8x57 is a completely different rifle than a modern rifle that was re-barreled to 8mm-06 with a modern barrel. Which do you have?
