7mm WSM powders

Hello, new to the forum here.
I am shooting a stock Winchester model 70, 7mm WSM. I'm loading new Hornady brass, Hornady #28452 SST 162 grain bullets, using CCi 250 primers.
I'm usually hunting in or near the Bighorn mountains of Wyoming for mule deer, elk, and antelope. Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on the best powder and amount to use.
Most of my hunting targets are 300-500 yards out, but I'm looking to extend that for elk, as crawling gets old quick. LOL
If anyone thinks I should change up the lead or primers I'm using also, please speak up. I'm new to reloading, but working with a friend who has a lot of experience reloading, just not with the 7mm wsm.
Thanks in advance!
I have a 270 wsm and use RL16. I've used H4831sc as well as H4350 with 130, 140 gr bullets. I would use one of these temp stable powders. For <140 gr RL16 or H4350, for 150-170 H4831sc, 180+ H1000 would be where I'd start with a wsm. Coal may be an issue with longer hvy high bc bullets in that action.

It's obviously hard to come by but I've been running RL26 and 175/162s for a few years. Impressive enough to keep me away from PRC. Matching performance from what I read with a few grains less powder and a SA.

Will work for me till I can't find brass anymore.

RE17, 22, 23, 26, & Viht. N560 in all my 7mm WSM's. I wouldn't be afraid to shoot any of those powders again they all have done well with various bullets from 150-180 grains. I'm currently using N560 and RE23 mostly, CCI 250's & Federal 215's. Now that Lapua makes 300 WSM brass I've got loads of quality brass.

Do you think Lapua will ever make 7mm wsm brass, or will they just expect us to neck them down? LOL

Man I wish but I'd bet a years salary that Lapua will never make brass for the 7mm WSM, shoot Winchester won't even support their own cartridge. Hornady might put out some brass and maybe Bertram but the best WSM is dead. It was barely hanging on and then the 7 PRC came in and put the nail in the coffin. I have no problem necking down 300 WSM, the fireform loads I use are actually pretty accurate.
