7mm STW Brotherhood - For those who shoot the 7mm Shooting Times Westerner

Hey Guys,

I have been reloading this past year with 140 gr. AB with 85.5 gr. H1000 and had really good results with low ES/ED, nice velocity (3,450 fps) and tight groupings (less than 1/2 MOA) for my two Remington 700 Sendero SF 7mm STWs.

I am excited about the new Long Range Accubonds and I plan on buying the 168/175 gr. for my 7mm STWs.

Though I've had good results with H1000 for the 140 gr. Accubonds I've heard that Retumbo is better for heavier bullets, i.e., above 160 gr.

"MudRunner2005" and my buddy "7stw" like the RL powders but I'm leaning towards the Hodgdon extreme powders so what's the best powder out of these two (H1000 or Retumbo) in these bullet weights (168/175 gr.)?

I also posted this in the reloading section.

TIA

I just wish I could find retumbo!!!
My lapua liked it but I ran out before I could get my load finished.
Once my STW is finished ill try H1000 and the RLs

I'm just wonderin when you're gonna sell me one of them STW's Gamehawker.....

You can keep the scope, but I call first dibbs if you sell one of the guns! :D

Thanks guys. The 120s are just for explosion factor I am not really worried about the b.c. I bought some 168 and 180 berger hunting bullets to try too. I bought the gun originally because the price was right 500$ and to make a 30-338 Lapua improved but I am liking this stw. I am also putting in an order for 100 PCs of Norma 300h&h brass to make some 7mm stw. I've got 20 noslers right now just to tinker with. I've started reading this post but it will take a while.

Dang, to bad you are in Vegas-- I've got a keg of Retumbo sitting around I have yet to find a use for. I can't find any new RL at present so I'll have to burn it I guess.

Not likely to happen but though if I ever do decide to sell one of them I'm sorry to say to you that my buddy "ButterBean" (Lee) gets first dibs on it and first right of refusal on it. :)

Dude, you have two chances of getting one of my bud " Gamehawker's" STW's! That would be Slim , and None!!!! And None just left!!!! :D He has got the smoke on those two twins, and there ain't no way he'll let them go, I am sure of that, especially since they shoot like they do after he got them back! You've got more luck winning the lottery!! He he !
( at least I hope he don't )

It's going to be a fun read, and a long one too, and you might end up reconsidering the new build, and leave it alone!:D

My feelings are REALLY hurt now! :D

Bob, You are second in line behind Lee if I were to ever get rid of both of them. :D

After Lee unselfishly sold his 7mm STW last year to help a friend I promised him I would help him find another one or sell him one of mine if I were ever to do that.

Yup, that was a Nobel move, and from a " stand up guy" too! You KNOW I was just kidding to BTW. But I second the notion that " Brother Bean " to get first dibs, in the event that when pigs fly, and the cows come home, that you decide to sell one of those beauties!
P/S, I'm still waiting on my custom 280 to be finished. Delays, Delays, Delays!

Found another twin to mine....But they want $1,800 friggin dollars for it!!! With some junk scope.

I'd pull the scope and rings and bases off and give to someone if I bought it, so I **** sure wouldn't pay $1,800 for a Sendero SF 7mmSTW.....No matter how rare they become, unless that joker had a Zeiss, or NF or S&B on top of it...
