7mm PRC vs 7LRM

How about necking down a 300lm or 300nm for a real fire breather. I bet it'll spit out the 195's from a 24" over 3,200fps. If you don't mind rebarreling every 5 or 10 rounds
Done it. 7/300 NMI. ran 195s at 3340 out of a 25" bbl

prefer my 7/300 PRC. easy button wildcat. near perfect LR hunting caliber. Runs 180 berger's at 3120

this cannot be done with the PRC without risking overpressure or worse

My 7RMs run 175/180s faster or as fast your 7/300prc...😁😁😁😁

IMO the 7prc is a boring attempt to copy the performance of the 7RM that comes up 10-15% short every time.

I don't know about a remag running 3100 plus with a 180g bullet. Im pushing mine pretty good at 2950. You must have a fast barrel and running on the edge of pressure? I don't think I got much above 3000 and had heavy bolt lift. What powders are you getting these speeds with? I have a 26" barrel running adg brass and retumbo with 180vldh. It's accurate load so a 100fps won't do anything for me anyways. My cousin has a 7sherman magnum which is a 300prc improved necked down and he runs 180vldh at 3290 ish just under 3300 with n570. I don't think he can get much more either.

I do it with two different barrels. Ones a 24" running 175s at 3120 with h1000 and the other is a 26" running 180s at 3140 with retumbo. Both are just under pressure in Peterson brass and run fine there just like all my rifles.

I see no reason to push your setup any faster if you have accuracy! Sounds like a hammer!
That 7 sherman is pretty impressive too!

How many grains of powder are you running in your 7/300?

Have a nearly identical load myself with the 180s running 3127fps. Have a load with the Hybrids and RL-50 doing 3078fps. For flat out nasty speed try the 180s and LRT. 3265fps!

My point was out of the cartridges mentioned by the OP I'm not sure the 7/300 is worth it for another 100-120fps ish. That's all.
Potentially - depends on what a guy wants it to do. Personal choice for sure

I would agree however that if a guy was building a 7 and wanted to push larger projectiles faster and with more energy...something more than the 7 PRC is needed
