My .300 Win Mag having a COAL of 3.520, 178 H ELDM & 71.5 gr. of PP4000MR gets 3144, 3158, & 3146 fps. I would have no reason to get some 7mm .300 Mag wildcat other than to get something different. 200 & 208 grain bullets also have respectable velocities. COAL ranges from 3.520 to over 3.6 with 200 & heavier bullets. These loads won't fit in standard LA magazines - the solution is to use a push feed single shot.

Thanks DMP, I have read that page. I'm not sure if others here have. I have to wonder if there isn't something to the reamer design of the 7 Practical that makes it more desirable over a 7mm-.300mag.

Hi Guys, The 7mm Practical was designed by Nathan Foster of Terminal Ballistics Research here in New Zealand. Dave Manson now makes reamers for this. Here is some info on the link below.
