7mm cartridge choice for long monolithics

Ok I'll bite. What does that mean?

We (including myself) are addicted to speed and always trying to go faster and more accurate. Never satisfied with a great load! I think it's a good thing but my wife thinks it's a problem!

Do you think 3000fps is achievable in the 7SS with the 177gr HH or would you step up to the 7 MAX in that case? I guess more is typically better, but I'm still curious . I'm thinking one of these short magnums in a Tikka might be the combo I'm searching for.

It's my understanding that tika uses the same magazine for both long and short actions. They put stops in the magazine for the different rounds

Hells Canyon Armory also makes a magazine for tikkas that gives a little more length.
