Wondering if anyone has used the 7mm 150 SMK for deer??

I would be pushing them about 3000 fps MV, out to 650 yards, at deer that average around 100 pounds field dressed.

Other bullet choices would be the Nosler 140 Ballistic Tip, 140 Accubond or the 139 SST at 3150, or the 154 grain SST at 2950. So far, the 150 SMK is slightly more accurate than the other choices.

I shot a 10 point buck here in Texas with my 7mm Rem Mag and 150gr SMK. Buck ran about 15 yards and dropped. Mine are about 3000 fps with imr4831.I have to go back and see how many grains. My gun shoots 1.8 inch groups @ 500 yards with that load. I love the SMK accurate and gets the job done in my book.

I don't know about 150 SMK's, but I shot an Aoudad twice with a 300 win mag at 300 yards using 190 SMK's, I will never do it again! Perfect shoulder shot and it didn't seem to phase the animal, it just polked right through. Lucky I had Nosler B.T on my belt, I shoveled one in and finished the animal with one shot. The damage was clearly more effective from the Nosler BT! I have used the Nosler BT and AB on antelope, deer and elk and they worked well for me. AB on larger game......

Just my two cents.

Yes it is the bullet I shoot in my Warp 7 and have killed many feral hogs, a few coyotes, feral dogs and sheep. Have posted pics in other threads. Never has it failed and the hogs have all been between 200 and 150lbs at ranges out to 550.

In my 7 rem mag i shoot 140 gr nosler ballastic tips. in the past two years i have taken one cow elk one doe antelope, a 5x3 mule deer and a muley doe. all of which i tracked 0 yards. The longest shot was about 300 yards on the mule deer buck. i have loaded up 160 sierra game kings and 168 bergers but have never seen the point in useing them yet.
