7mm-08 barrel length

With RL-17 or StaBall Powders and pushing the heavier 154 gr to 168 grain, Bullets, I'd go, 24",.. every Day !
22" barrels are a Bit "Handier" in, the Brush / Timber, tho !
Hated, the 26" 7mmMag rifle that, I "had",.. that Barrel, caught on,.. EVERYTHING

i use H4350 in my 7SAW (an improved 7-08) and push 16x class at 2840 pretty comfortably from a 27"

much easier on the PRS powder budget not having to use Varget (same speed but less powder compared to H4350)

Do you gain much velocity going to a 24" barrel vs the standard 22" barrel in 7mm-08?

I use Varget for the NBT 120's in a 22" barrel at 2940fps, and Ramshot Big Game with 140gr Accubonds at 2920fps in a 25" barrel (the Pharmseller load).

Not at all. I switched to H4350, RL16 and IMR-4451 because I couldn't find any, and I ended finding some RL16, then H4350 and so on.

I do like the fact that now I don't have to worry about higher temps changing the POI of my competition rifles with IMR-4350.

It's a classic that is, and has been very accurate, no matter how old it gets.
