Gotta love the 7 prc huh , it's a great Mt hunting round
I'm getting 2982 fps and 4.4 sd and .950 -5 shot group at 200 with 175 hornandy eldx 68.8 h1000 . Want to try retumbo but with 8 lbs of h1000 I'm doing pretty good , 7 prc 22 in carbon form Oregon Mountain rifle in Billings, mt- Lee is awesome and absolutely answers questionsShot the 26" 7 prc today. Groups below are at 200 yards and the load is 68.3g retumbo, federal 215 match and 180 hybrids. This barrel has just a crack over 100 rounds on it after today. The below groups were rounds 79,80,81 and then 90,91,92. And we're shooting at 2910fps. 15 rounds later I shot my last 3 of this load at 450 yards with a 2" group. But velocity had jumped up to 2960fps.
68.9 started the day at 2920 and ended at 2975 while also giving a couple clickers.
I'll be backing down to 67.2 or so and working back up to find that 2910 node again. Shoots great but not anything that can't be accomplished with a 7 Saum in my opinionView attachment 539598View attachment 539599
What is your barrel length?I've posted this quite a bit but I'm at 2975 with the 180 hybrids and n565 ran well above 3050 with both h1000 and n565 without appreciable pressure signs. Mine is on a LA throated long Adg brass. More accurate than I can shoot, love the 7saum
I need to have my parts to the GS in two weeks and still can't make up my mind.
I would think you could get more velocity…My 7SS is at 2980, 20",168 grNot exactly what your looking for but
7 max
22"
Med action
Running 162 eldx at 2940 fps. Only 80 rounds through it so it might speed up.
Careful with buying powders that you don't know what cartridge you plan to use. I had some powders left over that were for a specific cartridge that I no longer had and I asked what were some of the best cartridges for those powders and I got chewed out because …who buys powders and doesn't know what cartridge they are for ??? what they couldn't understand was I knew what cartridge they were for when I bought it, but I sold the rifles and Figured why waste 60 pounds of powder. why not buy a cartridge or make a new load for the cartridges i had on hand that would workThat's awesome. I love N560 as well. I just bought 8lbs of N568 just because it was so cheap on Midway haha. Don't even know what I'm going to use it in yet.
