7 PRC/7SAUM Velocities

I run the saum out of a 22" suppressed on 2 rifles with 180's at 2,950 - 2,960. 26" pushing 180's at 3,020 and 27" pushing 195's at 2,940 - 2,960. I hate posting these numbers cause of the haters. "You're way too hot". BS. I'm anywhere from 3 - 7 loadings on Adg cases. Sure I throw 1 away out of 30 each loading but that's me. I'm still alive, no blown up chambers, gas in my face, cracked cases nothing. So either load it like that or go find a 7prc. I've loaded for two prc's and I'm not impressed. Give me the saum all day.

No hate here, that's what I would expect out of that cartridge along with the wsm, rem mag and prc out of properly built and throated rifles. The bottom line to me is we're all trying to defend the cartridge we're running but there really is no need for that. They all work, velocity differences are negligible, my elk is as dead as your elk so they all kill, we strive for little groups and a few achieve that, I think we just like to argue with each other 😁 It's late winter and cabin fever has set in. The longer a thread like this goes on, the more heated it gets

Not exactly what your looking for but
7 max
22"
Med action
Running 162 eldx at 2940 fps. Only 80 rounds through it so it might speed up.

I've got no hate for the prc, Saum just seems more efficient. Both are great cartridges and I wouldn't hesitate to grab either. I'm a little salty about the possibility of losing Saum brass at some point due to the prc popularity. Pre-prc Saum brass flew off the shelves and now it seems to sit, and I can't help to think manufactures notice this too

I load for 2 different saums. 1 on a SA, 1 on a medium. Both run the same node at 2940ish in 24" barrels with Rl23/175EH. Comfortably without pressure.

The medium runs 60.7gr on a .220" FB.
SA runs 59.9gr In a short FB saami chamber.
That RL23 and the 175 is a great combo. It shoots in every rifle I've tried.

If you don't mind me asking Bruce how much 26?
I'm using 61.7 grains. That bullet at that speed seems to be a sweet spot as far as performance on animals. I've had several African PH's ask what bullet I was using. My kills have been from 50 yds to 611. Been a great combo for me.
