So I have been wanting to build a 6mm PRC and finally got time to put one together. Needless to say.....I am impressed with the first test of breaking in the barrel and forming brass.

The Scoop:
6mm PRC (6mm-6.5mm PRC)
Terminus Zeus SA QC
Krieger 22" Rem Varm Contour
Trigger Tech Diamond
Manners MCS-NS Stock
MDT Precision Bottom Metal
Area 419 Maverick
ZCO 5-25

Reamer: Manson's 6mm/6.5mm PRC with a freebore of .130".

For the breaking in and fire forming of brass:

Hornady 110 ATIP
N565 58.1 grains
New ADG Brass
F210M Primers
3,220 FPS avg ES 1.5 SD 0.6 over 5 shots and two sets of groups starting from cold bore.

Accuracy was nuts! I shot several 5 - 3 shot groups ranging from .1 moa to .22 moa in size. I did shoot a 8 shot group for grins that measured .4 moa. All shots and testing were done at 100 yards. I did take it out to 755 yards on a 3 shot group before I called it a day. Wind was at my 3 o'clock at 4 fps pretty much constant. First two impacts were 1.4" apart with the 3rd shot pushing left to make the group a little bigger. I can't wait to get to shooting my longest target and start developing a load for it. I have 27 rounds to have fun with at 755 yards and then I'm going to start the real load development.

Pressure ladder was done first starting at 55.0 grains where I did the first 10 shots breaking in the barrel and produced a .4 moa group of the first firings. The pressure range was 55.0= 3,022 fps and pressured out initially at 59.6 with a ever so slight stiff bolt lift at 3,284 fps.

There were 2 velocity nodes. One at 3,080 fps (56.4 gr) and one at the other at 3,215 fps (58.6 gr) marks.

Final load that I will run until it's seasoned up will have a COAL of 2.979" which is slightly too long for the MDT mags even with no binder plate. So I will have to adjust this during the final load development.

I will be trying the Berger 109 LRHT's, 105 Hybrid's, and for grins I am going to see what it will push the Hornady 80 ELD-VT's at later.

All in all I am very pleased with the cartridge. I figure after I get done testing the different bullets in it I will burn out the barrel sooner than later. Good thing I have a couple more of the Krieger's on the shelf to replace it.
