6mm Creedmoor Velocities?

So the 88gr hunter is your choice?

I have a jug of H4350 hidden away...:)

I have to agree...

Thanks...
Yes I think it is a great bc to vel compromise. At 4000' elev it carries 2375fps at 500y. I kinda figured 500y was. A good outside range for the 6mm for big game. Almost 2400fps gives the small bullet some good pop at distance.

I have 3 barrels in 6 creed, one does best with 41.5 grns of rl17 at 3135 with the 108,next barrel does best with 42.0 grns rl16 at 3070 with the 108,and the last barrel makes 3058 with the 110 smk and h4831sc

I am getting 3063 out of my 24" proof with a 108 ELD-M. Using 40.5 g of RL16 to push it. RL 16 has proven to be magic pixie dust for my Creeds. Both 6 and 6.5. 110 SMK's were 3040 with the same charge.

My 21" Fieldcraft is just short of 3K with 41grs RL16 under 108 ELD-M. Picked up the Ruger PRC also but awaiting spring weather to check it out.
Thus far this appears to be a perfect combination for wolves and coyotes and I may try on caribou next fall.

Are those your two most accurate nodes? If not what's your accuracy load?
Yes, they were my most accurate charge weights during load development. Then seating depth testing tightened them up even more.

With the lighter load, I just shot a 2.06" five shot group @ 851 yards last week. Shot it from 545 to 1251 with phenomenal results. I can't wait for pronghorn season in 2019.

I have a few other bullets I want to try too. 87 VMAX, 95 TMK, 110 SMK, 115 HVLD, 88 & 101 Hammer Hunters, and 95 LRX are all sitting in my cabinet. I just shot the 101 Hammers in a 6SST, and dang. Super accurate up to 3500fps in that rifle.

I am getting 3160 fps out of the following:

Alpha 6mm CM brass
42.8 Grains H4350
Fed GM205M primers
108 grain ELDM
Seated .005" off the lands.

I got a new RCBS bench priming tool, which makes it easy to get good seating with a little crush on the primers. My ESs on the most recent batch are between 5 and 7 fps......I'm pretty happy with that.

What I wanted to hear and didn't want to hear about the 101 gr hammer hunter. Putting together a 6SST and can't decide what bullet to run. Probably go with a 115 Berger seeing as hammer doesn't ship to Canada. If the accuracy and on game performance is outstanding, I may import some. Just be used on deer out to 5-600 yds max.

Very promising initial results in 6mm Creedmoor, with the 110SMK and H4831sc! Found a nice node at 43.4gr and another higher up on the scale at 44.0gr. Starline LR/CCI-BR2. 26" X-Caliber 1:7 5R.

This is a great thread to read as my 6mm creed should hopefully be back from the smith by end of the month!!

What's the reason you plan on shooting the 115 Berger's over the dtac's? The 115 dtacs are suppose to have great consistency and excellent bc!

Strictly a hunting gun. From what I've heard the dtacs are not a good hunting bullet. So from my searching the 115 Berger hunting looks to be my best bet. Good BC and rated for hunting. These are some impressive speeds out of the 6 Creed. The 110 Sierra is also tempting. Wish there was more on game experience with them.

George Gardner of GA Precision says that 3050 is about the perfect 6mm creedmoor speed for accuracy & barrel life. Mine shoots the 108 eld's around 3078 where it really has the tightest groups with single digit sd/es. the 108 shoot very well in my shilen barreled rifle over anything i have tried.

I had good luck with 4831SC close to 3100 with 105 Hybrids. I played around with R23 last summer and never reached pressure with a full case. I stuck with that load due to zero pressure and accuracy and I get right at 3000 - 3050.

This is the most easy to reload cartridge I have ever reloaded! I settled on somewhere between 41.0 and 41.5 gr RL19 with the 108 ELDs. Hot or cold, didn't matter. It's actually a starting load, but my 26 " tubes gives me 3050 to 3100fps and excellent accuracy, super low ES and SDs. if you think 2 1/2 " group at 500 yds. is accurate. This round shoots very, very flat to 1000. Not a great hunting load at long range, but steel, yes.
When I say settled on, I mean I went straight from the Harrell drop tube to case, ran the bullets into case with one stroke. Normally, I'm crazy about a tenth of a grain and make several passes to seat the bullet. This one didn't need it. I have 2 bolt guns and an AR coming in it. LOVE IT!
