6mm Creed in Long Action

get a 6rem/244rem and use slower powders to have a longer life as it would work in a long action better. plus, its max pressure is less than the creed.
Just for the simple fact of brass availability Id avoid 6mm rem. As much as I love the 6mm rem, ain't no way I'd build one over a creed. Quality brass is available and everywhere for the 6 creed. 6 rem not so much.

I have an Origin Long Action I originally planned to use for a rifle, but recently got the idea to try and use it for a SA build (temporarily for a few years). The thought is to build a kids/family rifle for deer/fun (low recoil). 6mm creedmoor is on my mind.

Could I build it out using the Accurate Mag 308 Long Action Mag?
Anybody have experience with a similar SA built on a LA?
Anyone have experience with the Accurate Mag 308 LA mag?
Ran a 243 for PRS in a Savage long action, MDT chassis, MDT 3006 mags. Never had an issue.

Good choice to go with 6 creed. I think it's an improved 243 and I have 4 rifles in it! Soooo easy to reload. You need a 7.5 or 8 twist to stabilize the over 100gr. Bullets. And I think your build will be better with at least a 22 " barrel. Nit much additional weight. Yes, a 243 with a 10 twist works; but I found the 6 creeds work better with the 7.5 or 8 twist as that will allow the heavier bullets, from 103 to 115. It truly is a great cartridge and will drop deer way out there!
I've had 22" barrels and they're a little long with a suppressor for my style of hunting in the southeast US. I'm not really concerned with weight as much as I am the handiness of them. The topography, game, and distance that is common around here lean more towards handy/comfortable carrying in the woods all day over an extra 100-200 yards of ethical range (deer inside 400 yards)

I have a 11.5" 6 creed pistol. It runs a 110 at 2550ish. I'd think a 16-18 with a can would be fine. I have a 18" prc and love it

The feeding issue is real in an AI type magazine. It is dependent on so many factors such as how fast you run the bolt and COAL. The long action magazine lips release the short cartridge before it is well captured in the chamber. I fought with a customers long action 308 using AI magazines and never did get it 100%.
Were the feed ramps the same height?

All you have to do is bend the lips to get the bullet pointed up toward the chamber. Running PRS matches and cycling an action quickly wasn't a problem for me.

I would not do it. I rebarreled a Model 70 long action to 22 Creedmoor and used acis long action mags to feed it. I was never able to get it to feed correctly, and reliably. My gunsmith and me worked on it for awhile before giving up. Another well know gun company, will not mention their name, did not recommend i do it either. I was hard headed and tried to do it. A 243 case from the original winchester box mag will work from a long action.
