6mm ARC with Berger 105 grain VLD hunting

View attachment 504324
I agree with Dyson. The 6ARC has been really easy to load for. It has shot everything I have tried in it, sub-moa. I haven't shot anything on the light end of the spectrum, but 100, 103, 105 and 108gr bullets have all shot very well in my rig. I haven't shot the 105 VLDH but the 105 hybrid shot very well. I used Hornady gas gun data and extrapolated for bullet weight.
Whats your load for the 105 hybrid?
Sweet rig! How long is your bbl?
I'm building a lightweight side charger with a 16" faxon gunner. Using the spartan upper and a lightweight bcg. It'll be my first side charge build.

Thanks, yeah I was looking at the hornady data for the 105 bthp but for the gas gun not bolt.
Any reason why you use the bolt gun data instead?
I have a bolt gun but if you look at the Hornady app it shows both gas and bolt. Here's data for gas.

Thank you sir appreciate the quick load data!
Don't mention it, thanks to Phillip Hoham Technical Support who responded quickly To my request for load data.
BTW my best groups were with the 108gr Berger VLD and Varget. Shot this group on an unusually calm day in West Texas a few
weeks back and I made a small adjustment to my EC Tuner Brake.

My best group with the 105 hybrids was with 28.2gr CFE223 at 2.260" with Hornady brass and GM205M primers. I have since picked up some A2520 as it is supposed to give the best speeds in 6ARC. I also need to pick up some of the Starline brass. I use it in my 224 Valkyrie and it has performed very well.

I compete with a 6 fatrat and use berger 105 hybrids.
29 grs of 8208 gives me low 2800's with a 26" barrel.
When working up your loads the first excessive pressure signs will be an ejector swipe on your case head.

I like 8208 also but near impossible to find lately. Right up there with TrailBoss in scarcity.
Only unicorns and Dodo birds are more scarce than Trail Boss and just like Dodo birds, Trail Boss wont be coming back.😆

Keep looking for 8208, my LGS had some 8208 several months back and I grabbed a few pounds To try in my Grendel and 6ARC.

8208 is pretty awesome in the Grendel. I have a little over a pound of it left and that is what I will be using it for. My Grendel only shoots one load relly well and it is 120 NBTs over 8208.

I had an accurate 8208 load with 120 gold dots but they just wouldnt feed in my Odin Works Grendel upper reliably. I Switched to the 123SST over 27.5 grains of ARCOMP and it's a perfect match. It's a midnight hog and coyote slayer. I'm going to try it on some whitetail culls this year and see how it performs with neck shots.
