6 Rem Ackley Imp build

I did my 243AI in 1:10 twist. Them lighter bullets scream out there.
Yeah, mine has a 10 twist also.
Seebeeken, I shot 95g Nosler ballistic tips at 3500 with R#19 in a 10T Douglas a few years back, and 80g Sierra bltiz at 3800 in a Shilen 14T with very short freebore, Rem and Win brass.
Yeah, I'm looking at those 80 gr Blitz. I'll look and see if I have some in stock. I've always had good results with Sierra. I'm going to also work up a load from 69 gr Hammer for deer since I have them already. Been wanting a 6AI for many years

I only shoot 87 Vmax's, no fat bullet problems noticed, all mine measure .2430 give or take .0001. I turn necks to .268 and use a Lee 6mm Rem collet die & Lee 6mm Rem crimp die after F/L size with Redding F/L 6mm AI die.

These are VN 165 loads. I have some RL23, a double base powder of real close burning rate of the VN165 that might boost velocities up some.

Here are some Miller Sg estimates for a bunch of light 6mm bullets with 9 & 10 twist rates. 3300 fps loads, those some 150 - 175 higher will give slightly higher Sg values.

Powder is real pricy but my LGS has good deals on SW4350 but it does not get the velocities of VN165 but gets slightly better accuracy using charges of 46 -47 grains. RL16 loads are 45.5(over $50 o_O$64.99/ pound!) and give about same results as the SW4350. I bought 2 pounds of VN 160 for $81 & change with 5% veterans discount at Missoula Scheels.

SeeBee, The 70 and 80g Nosler ballistic tips are awesome on deer and hogs, they do not blow up like some other bullets. 4000 in a 10 twist with Win 760 on formed loads is the real world in Rem brass, Fed 210 primer, fire forming at 3875. Those solid base bullets penetrate well, whereas chest shots have organs well blended with incredible velocity.

I will be using a Redding body die and a Lee collet die. I've had them a few years waiting on this rifle. I've had good luck with that combo in the past. I have a bunch of different 6mm bullets from past work with 243ai, 6xc to work with. I hope it shoots as well as my 257AI
