This poll is to determine how owners of 6.8 Westerns truly feel about the cartridge.

DO NOT POST NEGATIVE MESSAGES IF YOU DO NOT NOW OR HAVE NEVER OWNED A FIREARM IN 6.8 WESTERN.

If you post negative comments, please produce proof that you have actual experience with the cartridge by producing receipts or pictures of yourself holding the rifle while showing the cartridge.

What is your honest opinion on the 6.8 Western cartridge?

I don't mind seeing their vote. However, there are people who have never given the cartridge the time of day who constantly talk about how worthless or senseless it is. That's a lot like me crapping on Toyota pickup trucks even though I've never owned one. In my view that is small minded.

I have one, very impressed with it so far, especially with the factory loads. The 165ablr & 170bt offerings from Winchester both are at least 50fps faster than what's printed on their respected boxes. Accuracy, well...it makes me looks like a highly trained sniper. Best group I've ever shot was a 1/4" group, my average is 3/8"-1/2" with either load. Still working on my ballistics with it, hopefully by this fall season, I'll be able to speak of it's effectiveness on game. Hopefully I'll be able to develop some hand loads and see how that'll work out.
 
I'm happy with mine. I had no illusions about what it was or wasn't. I was considering the 7prc and decided to go with the 6.8 Western instead. Always been one to go against the crowd. I can do anything with the 6.8 that can be done with the 7prc. Winchester just needs to do a better job of promoting and supporting it.
