Looking for some help on loading my 6.5x824

1/8" twist
24" barrel
156gr Berger EoL Hunter
Federal 210m primer
Norma brass

wondering if H4350 will be sufficient? Looks like reloader 26 has been popular choice but reviews say unstable in variable temps? Any help us appreciate. Thanks

I tried rl23, r26, and retumbo in my Cooper 6.5x284 (24"), lapua brass, WLR primers.
retumbo did best, very accurate, hit max 2990 at 57.2 gr. rl 23,rl26 hit pressure early. Decided I needed a PRC to shoot the 156's or a 26" barrel on the 6.5x284. So am sticking with the 140s for my 6.5x284.

My x284 using peterson brass, 53.7gr rl26 with 156 seated 40k off, shoots great. I'm just below pressure. Developed the load in 60s for temps, shot this summer above 90 degrees, no issues. The velocity is 2980 from a 26" Christensen ridgeline. The rifle has the new sammi chamber which has a mile of freebore. Touching lands, the 156 is half way up the neck.

I couldn't get enough N570 in the case, too slow, reloder 26 seems great but I have had spikes when it gets hot~above 85F), I ended up with retumbo around 2,950 FPS, don't remember the charge offhand. Lots of info here;

H4831Sc is your friend, but it is slower than the r26. I'm at 2880 in a 26" barrel with the H4831sc I will to try the 570and see how that goes when things warm up.

You can use H4350, but its fast and will likely pressure out before you will reach velocities that slower powders like RL26, H1000, N565, IMR7977 etc. will give you before hitting pressure. So if I was doing it I'd start low and shoot a powder ladder easing up charges at like 0.2gr at a time to find your rifles pressure point and look at velocities before doing anything else.

Don't forget about Rl23. It fills a case like 4831sc but provides 50-70fps more before pressure, in my 300wsm anyway. It's extremely consistent and very temp stable as well.
