6.5X06 load?

taking my wife to colorado this fall. need load for 6.5X06 with 140 sierra MK or 140 lead tips ? thank you GES

142 SMK with 54g H-1000 prints really nice out of my savage 6.5/06 with a 26" tube. Haven't had it across the chrony yet but should run about 2800 to 2850. YMMV. Good certified data for 6.5/06 online at IMR - Legendary Powders that's where I found my load. I just started playing around with the Nosler 120g BT for hunting as well which has a reduced BC and weight compared to the 142g SMK. I can't reccommend hunting with the SMK as Sierra doesn't recommend using any of their MK bullets on game. Again YMMV. The 140g Hornady SST is also a great and well proven bullet for hunting and doesn't give up much to the SMK. The Nosler Partitions and the Hornady Interlocks will both penetrate well and hold together better than the polymer tips mentioned above.

Here are my two go-to loads:

Target/Tactical - Ave 5 shot group is .52"
142 SMK
COAL - .010 off the lands
H4831SC - 54.5 grains

Hunting -
140 Nosler Accubonds
COAL - .020" off the lands
H4831SC - 54.5 grains

I working up a load with 140 grain Sierra GameKings. I'll post when complete.
