6.5 ss final design

Thanks Rich,
Please feel free to PM Like everyone else on this thread we want one when you figure it out.
Dead bears..... Yogi is in deep trouble.

I'd much rather be shot up close by a 17hmr than a shotgun slug. Size matters! bigger holes, more blood loss, more shock, more nerve damage, more pain, longer recovery time, MORE DAMAGE. MASS does help. You're standing in front of a Griz 15 ft away, you have a 12 gauge with 3 1/2" slugs, 5 of them, your buddy has his trusty 17hmr and 5 big 20 grain bullets, who gets eaten?

lol

save your buddies life, you can tell him nice shot when the bear falls. or run quickly after the 5th!

I NEED A REAMER, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:D

I sized a couple cases down this evening with my Whidden 6.5 SS die and seated a 140 Berger to 2.8 Coal and a 160 Matrix to a 2.880 Coal which put both bullets perfectly seated just the boat tail below the neck. Man the neck is long, it looks like your seating the bullet way deeper than you actually are, can't wait to light it up gun)

Rich or anyone that shoots the 6.5 140 Berger hunting vld, how well does the jacket hold up in a true 8 twist at 3200fps? Not highjacking, just figured this would be the group to ask.

Yup, the set up looks pretty good so far! The go gauge FINALLY came in yesterday so I won't get it to Mark until Mon. I am going to try to get him to get right on it. (IF you can hurry a gunsmith):D! No offense to you smiths. I realize that you have a bunch of us that want to come in and talk guns all day:D.......Rich

I haven't had any come apart at 3200', but I think that is probably starting to reach the limit?.......Rich

Darn! My go gauge came in and I took it over to the smith for chambering and found out he can't do it now for about two weeks. I packaged up the reamer and go gauge and shipped it off to Rhian (bigngreen) to chamber his and then get it shipped back. Stay tuned for Bigns' results. He probably shoots better than me anyway!:D.......Rich
