Finally got time to shoot some here recently. Been wanting to try the 150 SMK in my 6.5 SAUM. A friend of mine was nice enough to allow me the use of his LabRadar for the afternoon.
6.5 SAUM 4S .296 NK .081 FB 26" Bartlein 1-8 3B on a R700 Ti trued and chambered by Greg Tannel
1x fired RP brass neck turned to .293, Redding dies, no expander, .291 bushing
215M primer, 150 SMK, RL26, 2.205 BTO (.020 jump)
I hadn't used this powder or bullet previously so I started low and worked up. All shots on paper at 335 yards using same point of aim. 2 shots didn't register on the chrono so I reshot them later in the dirt with the magnetospeed just to get the velo data. They have the *. Still working on pics without the old photobucket SOP.
57.6-2980
58.0-3024
58.4-3058*
58.8-3064
59.2-3065
59.6-3107
60.0-3120*
60.4-3170
60.8-3200
Started to get a stiff bolt around 60.0grs. Not bad, but I noticed it. Everything below that was nice. No issues.
I've never done this OCW method before. Not even sure that I've done it correctly to this point. But based strictly on the velo numbers I'm probably going to load up a few to shoot groups around 59grs varying OAL to see how it does.
Just as others have noted...RL 26 is impressive.
