6.5 PRC for Aoudad??

Your combo is more than enough. And nope do t go with a heavier bullet. I had worse luck with heavy cup core than copper.
I have take. Quite a few large audad with my 6.5 creedmore with the 123-124 hammers never go more than a few yards.
Heck I've killed a pile with a 6.5 grendel with the 97gr absolute hammer. Drive it right through both shoulder.

Aoudad are not hard to kill. A 6.5prc will be fine, I'd personally use a different bullet, but it will kill just fine.

Watched two 30"ers die from 660yds away from a 143eldx fired from a lowly creedmoor. Bullets exited too.

What bullet would you suggest? The 127LRX is very accurate in my rifle and has high marks as a hunting bullet.

If it's what you've been practicing with just stay with it.

Me personally I'd go with the 147eldm, 140eldm, 143eldx. But if you're comfortable with the barnes stuff, press on.

I'm the opposite after killing piles of them with both I can say neither of those bullets are nearly as good as the hammers. Maybe better than the 126 lrx but not the hammers.
Plus I actually get a bit more range out of the hammers than the Hornady. Based on min FPS to function.
In fact that is how I found hammer bullets. Had some less than great bullet performance from the 143-147 hornady on game. I loved those bullets till it happened more than once. Worst was my oryx. Then some audad.
They are not bad and they did get recovered bullets recovered with less than ideal.

That 127 should work great. If you really wanted to change try the hammer 123-124. Both worked great. Drive it right through them. My dad shot a 32-33" ram last year 200 yards with the 123 took out both shoulder and it went like 20 '

Hammer hunters are for sure good bullets. Aren't both the Barnes LRX and the Hammers solid copper?
They are copper yes but vastly different materials and functionality.
Only downside would be lower bc for the lower weight. But with the added speed the max distance for min FPS for me was actually a bit farther with the mono bullets.

Thanks Outlaw! This may be the one and only time I get to hunt the Aoudad and Ive waited a lot of years for the opportunity. I know bullet placement is the big ticket with any shot, but I sure don't want any unnecessary errors going in that I can prevent.

I am shooting 156 gr Berger EH over H1000 with <1in groups at 300yds from my home built 6.5 PRC. MV 2887 and ME 2888, at 600 yds velocity 2100 and energy 1650 ft/lbs That should be good for Aoudad.

You're good man, there's nothing wrong with that bullet.

He is right that bullet is fine.
If you wanna play with a different bullet. Sure try a hammer they seem to do everything a Barnes does but better. But at the end of the day if you place that Barnes in the right spot it's definitely gonna work.
