6.5 Creedmor- the Holy Grail?

I don't really feel like I am trashing their hammer bullets...

Really?

If you have actually had such awful experiences with them please start a thread with those experiences. I'm sure many would be interested. However, it's quite hard to believe you don't think you are trashing them. I'm not sure what else you would call the attacks. It doesn't matter either way but considering the passion in your hate your cause would be better supporting by taking it to a separate thread.

I know you are a numbers guy, you said so. Which bullets? What were the atmospherics, vel and the actual needed corrections at what ranges? If you actually want to contribute to the cause then do it. So far all you have done is run your mouth with no evidence. If you have real data we will make corrections. We want as much accuracy as possible. So far you have a lot of opinion with nothing to back it up. Do you have any credentials? Engineer, physicist, ballistician, metallurgist? Have you done anything to advance the sport?

I now expect another personal attack with no merit.
Honestly brother - we are good now. I am going to buy a box of your 6mm 88gr elk hammers, sell all of my other guns and use it for a down payment on a vacation home somewhere. There is no replacement for displacement, unless its a hammer!

I probably do have our numbers somewhere. My buddies were shooting barnes before they tried yours and just went back to the lrx. Water under the bridge for us. I don't have a beef with your bullets, just your comments.

I am a nobody man, just a redneck that grew up in the woods in idaho that likes to shoot and hunt. Unfortunately uncle sam has spent a little money training me to see through bullsh!tters like you. It makes it easy to pick up on inconsistencies in people stories and comments you know? You are an easy target because you make so many of them. Don't let me ruffle your feathers - I am not worth it.

Ok, transonic, I use 1125 FPS.
Faster than this is controlled. Slower is a gamble with out research of shots at that speed. It doesn't matter how far it drops vurses the other. You can place a shot as long as you can control it all the way up to transonic. Now, heavyweights will travel longer at slower speeds because they buck the wind better because of weight and lengths. Heavier at the same caliber means longer bullets. Heavier bullets maintain rotation longer. It's like the crankshaft of a big block verses a Cat. It takes a lot longer for a big rig motor to completely stop than it does for a 454.

What he was comparing was my 6.5AI shooting Matrix 160's to 7RM 168's.....he's close. I only lose 300ft# to the 168 @ 500yds. Bullet drop is less than an inch difference.
I'm using Lintz's ballistic calculator on my cellphone where I've got both my 6.5AI and 7 data stored. I hand load (have to for the AI) and load for both, so I've lots of data.
And, it's a 6.5-06AI, not a CM so not even a close comparison....and it's also the limit of my 6.5 for now. As long as I can keep velocity up to stabilize the bullet....I can shoot heavy's (as far as 6.5 go) and this is where the comparison ends to the 7RM. Beyond that the 7RM has the upper.

Exactly - Just curious, What does your calculator say the difference in energy is out to 1000?

I read where he said that but I don't believe it. As bad as he wants to condemn you, if he was really a numbers guy he would have said something about that 58.8 gr 6.5 Creedmoor load you listed.

My wife watches enough gossip girl can we not turn this thread into middle school passive agressiveness.

Still on that kick Rusty? Where is Hornady saying this? Because they advertise a bullet or ammo product that they do say "works at conventional or extended range" you translate that as "go kill stuff at extreme range"? Where are these ads?

400 yard+ performance and this ammo is loaded in 6mm and 6.5 bores when those cartridges don't really carry the amount of energy generally regarded as enough at those ranges. Go to the product page and watch the video. It also lists the 6.5 creed as adequate for elk on the same page it touts the bullets as being 400+ capable. We've covered due diligence but if you didn't know better it looks like they are billing 6.5 creed precision hunter ammo as 400 yard + elk medicine

Ha! That's funny. It's supposed to be 45.8g.
