6.5 Creedmoor Deer Slayer Rounds

I shoot the 127 LRX in my Tikka:
Hornady brass
43.5 gr H4350
OAL 3.850"
2930 fps

Also the 145 gr Barnes Match Burner
Hornady brass
43.5 gr H4350
OAL 3.850"
2800 fps

Both have exited every time and killed decisively, the Match Burner produces a far more devastating wound channel (and exit), despite being a "match" bullet.
3.850" oal in a creedmore?

Apex is a great choice as well
after the loss of Badlands which i had good success with, Apex might be the best choice for a longrange copper hunting bullet. with the talk of banning lead here the more choices the better and hopefully something will give above average results. first will be looking for short range under 400yds in 22ARC, 243W and 6.5 creed.

what was marginal accuracy, performance or both? any on game results to share.

No performance on game.

I'll pm you a thread from LRO on terminal performance.

Have ya checked out the Copper Rose as well?

Heck ya thats nice!
Yep was chasing the high bc for years. Only to realize both hit the min fps to work within 50 yards of the max. The. Couple that with the fact these work at 5yards all the way out and it became easy. No worrying about to close, stay off shoulder, no fuss. Now for paper it's hard to beat a higher bc bullet. But this is hunting

Ya? Good to know. So below what fps would ya venture?

I actually ran mine 3180 in the PRC and mostly on big critters. So apples to pear-apples I know. Longest shots around 300 so 2600ish, closest shots around 15yds.

A couple blacktail around 100yds 2950ish were poleaxed, even one hit rear lung n liver as he moved thru timber. Dropped!
Personally 2K is as low as I would go and the SF factor for the 124 in the Needmoor is very marginal to say the least.
The 85g HH was the go to in that platform but I'm not even sure about that at the present time, let me give Fordy a call and see if I can get him back over here as he has an extensive list of findings on Hammer across the board

Gday
Got a nudge 😜

Longtime no see people & sorry but my life has pretty well been turned upside down a few times this year but getting on track again finally & looking forward to 25

I've not read this thread yet but will tonight & got the gist of it I think on where things work & don't for which I'd say regardless of brand be careful of what you read on where pills work but then again define work

done some pretty cool testing on critters in the 6.5 caliber which ranged from 70 ish to around 1400/1500 lb marks along with impacts down to 1600 ish to over 3500 impacts but more were in the real low stuff that I dislike a lot & was reinforced again but that's my personal preference & information may be useful to someone & once again numbers I'll keep out but it's a few 😜

Cheers

Gday
Ok it's late here sorry & this may be a little in some face but please understand it's not my intention it's to cut through the crap ( not saying anyone is just trying to stop the small talk as I'm on a extremely tight time frame & need zzzz sorry anyway & I've read tthrough the thread
All great information & one thing I'm missing is pictures or even better videos of the wounds that the various pills mentioned produce

The way I've found to find out fact from fiction & the level one relays is produce pictures & I've got many of those brands mentioned ( not all ) here for which I'll share as time permits but I'll say one thing as a Tedder till I show these results is that the best killing pill @ low velocity was a mono 😱yes I never thought that possible so crow I ate but I didn't test every frangible out there so take that for what it is

Once again sorry to not do my intention of putting this information up tonight but 21 hrs without sleep has caught up with me sorry
Cheers
