I assign no more credit to vertical than horizontal.
When you look at a good ladder, you see cycles of both pretty much equally.
Normalized for MV, when the shots climb/fall, horizontal is decreased, when vertical stops, horizontal increases, roundy roundy.
The 'whipping' notion, as a sole property of tune, fails a test right there.
And for what reason would we assume bad shooting/setup shows up in horizontal only?
