6.5-284 Which bullet for Hunting?

That's some very impressive groups , why change bullets to burgers , personally I wouldnt expect much difference in performance on game with range from close to long range . Someone explain the difference if I'm wrong , it depends on what your expectations are if you are looking for more penetration and weight retention go with a mono of your choice , if it's a fast expanding bullet that may or may not exit on shoulder bone stay with the cup and core you have . I have tried most bullets and personally load HAMMERS now with great results , but again it depends on your expectations . Good luck with your choice
It's mostly about the BC. The Nosler groups great but the BC is nothing to write home about

With that kind of grouping, I wouldn't change a thing. I don't think the animals will know the difference.
I run the Berger 140 VLD and 4831sc in my 6.5-284, but it's a custom LA rifle. It runs at 2950fps and can put 5 shots in 1 hole. I'm not familiar with the savage internal mag length but I'm guessing that bullet would work.

Savage runs a 111 long action on the 6.5-284 so there's plenty of room.

I can't for the life of me imagine wanting to change a darn thing with that load for what you're looking to do! Especially to pick up a bit of BC points...........

As suggested buy more bullets (140 NBT's), shoot more, work out 2x as hard as you already are and get your tags applied for!

Life is short, hunt hard

On a way more important note, what state are you going hunting in? Are you going it yourself, or being guided. If so, who are you booked with or booking with?

One more question, to what range do you consistently shoot to at this time?
