525” Bull Elk trophy mount

I found this mount in a second-hand store in Wyoming a few weeks ago.
The lady there said “According to the story it was taken about 1993 on the Montana/Canada border and measures 525”.” She did not have much more information.

It is for sale.
At $15,000.00 American.
I took these photos and had a friend remove all the background clutter via photoshop.

No, I know NOTHING MORE about the history of the mount.

That is a freak of nature for sure. I wouldn’t be surprised, if places like Pennsylvania produce something like this in the future.

So my taxidermist creates stuff for clients……. He showed me some additional or modifications done for certain people. He also does duplicates for people. Often the stuff you see in scheels etc is a duplicate of the original. Not saying that’s the case here but I’m skeptical, which I think we all should be

I wondered if it was poached.
I would think a brute of that size would've been talked about heavily in the hunting magazines at the time.
Freak of nature for sure, but would definately like to hear the Paul Harvey version.

Those are not particularly common in Montana, assuming the story Airdale was given is accurate.
