Hello
(Cross-posted to other forums)
I have an unfired rifle I had built. My vision was for a very good, highly accurate mountain rifle with maximized short action performance without going up to a magnum, and without compromising on barrel length, durability etc. I think it is pretty close to that concept.
Important Details;
1.5.9 pounds
2. 22" 7-08AI
3. $2900 shipped
This was a NOS stainless Model Seven action which i bought from Long Rifles, Inc. They did their full blueprint package on it. They improved the bolt with a dual ejector, improved extractor, fluted and parkerized, etc. I can provide the job invoices. LRI Recoil lug pinned and parkerized. Barrel and action was Bead blasted
The barrel is a K&P: stainless #1 1/9 finished at 22". All barrel work done by LRI when I had the action work done.
Other components:
Stock: I purchased this NOS from a gunsmith shop, but there was no box. I believe it to be a McMillan KS series stock, as sold to me based on their inventory records. It weighs 27 ounces. It has not been bedded for this or any other rifle. There are a few small marks from safe rash, as shown. It has a Limbsaver pad.
Trigger: Timney M7 trigger
Fire Control: GreTan Model 7 Steel Lite
Bottom metal: now this is a stock Model 7 aluminum bottom metal I took off another M7 I have which received a DBM. I had to remove some material from the rear of the trigger guard to allow clearance for the larger 1/4" rear action screw necessitated by the LRI Model 7 upgrade job. It is kind of ugly with the bare aluminum. I planned to have it cerakoted when I took the rifle in to be bedded, but have not got around to that.
I also will include a new a Talley picatinny base, though it needs to be opened up for the #8 screws.
Reloading components available:
As a package deal, I will sell the following with the rifle only:
1. Redding Deluxe Die set, 7-08AI
2. 200 pieces of new Alpha Munitions 7-08 Brass
I need to pull out my records to see what I have in those items.
If it does not sell, I'll be bedding and cerakoting the rifle and selling a handful of lesser rifles instead. My dreamed-of mountain hunt did n
ot materialize.
