Above seven power or so the 50 will give you a little more light gathering. If you have to
mount one high anyway to get the sight picture you need go for it. If you need it lower
go for the 44. Fit is everything. Tape up an old scope with cardboard shims to the rifle
until you have it where you want it and go from there.
Depends on the useage! I have a Conquest of that same magnification and X 44mm on a varmint rifle. Ive never seen anyone out shooting groundhogs at dark time??? If I needed more light at dawn or dusk...then Id go with the 50 MM objective...but in bright light you dont need the 50.
