405 vs 500 for better accuracy & long range

Just started loading again, was able to get 300 405gr rnfp bullets for the 45-70 (Marlin 1895c). They shoot good but now I can not find anything, everything is back ordered or out of stock. Before I start casting I was hoping to try different bullet weights and find something that worked good before investing in a mold. My question is, from what I have read a 500gr will give better accuracy and better long range performance. If this is the case any suggestions/thoughts on this and any mold suggestions.
