Got my long range load sorted with the .223ai and have now started to use it in the field. I also got to use my scope mounted camcorder too.

That's a pretty sweet set up. I have thought long and hard about the 223AI. You are making me a believer. Give us some pics of the rifle and specs if you would please. I may have missed that thread.

Good shooting brother!

I too would like to know the specs of your 223ai if you don't mind. Sounds like a fine shooter.

Defensive Edge is rebarrelling my Rem. LTR to a 223ai with a Hart 24in 1-9tw I doubt i'll see it before the end of winter but I can't wait to get it back. Should make for a fun little rat/yote getter.

The Action is a stainless Tikka T3
26" Kreiger 1 in 8 barrel
Mcmillan A3/5 Stock
Alutek bottom metal with AI 10 shot magazine.
Ase Ultra sound mod.
Bedded with marinetex.
Stainless Recoil Lug.
Tikka original Trigger (1lb)
Schmidt and Bender PM2 SFP P4Ret
Leupold Mk 4 mounts
Sako stainless picatinny Rail.

.75" groups at 100
1.00" groups at 200yds
1.5" groups at 350yds.

Seems to take a while to stabilize the bullets but when stable they fly well. The load is a little on the warm side but with the small groups at 350yds I will put up with the warm load.

Took this pigeon too with a 15mph cross wind at 300+yds.

Oh, and a 300yd rabbit too.

Very nice looking stick!!!

Have you tried anything lighter or just the 80's?

The rifle is throated for the longer/heavier bullets to get me out there at long ranges. The 80 grain VLD's have a BC of .445 which is awesome for that. I have taken small deer at 300yds with this rifle and it drops them on the spot.

Well I can see we don't need to ask what was for lunch.... .

Good video!

Well I'm definitely jealous! I want one!:D Do the bullets open up at all?

Berger VLD's open up just fine.

I have now taken dozens of rabbits, a couple of foxes and and a couple of small deer too and not had a runner yet.
