400 legend

I was finally able to shoot my 400 L a few times today. It's a Savage Trail Hunter with an XRS chassis. I wasn't thrilled with the factory stock. I shot the factory 215 gr ammo for break in and then shot both the 215 gr and 190 gr for groups at 100 yds. This was done off of a bench at my local range. I was going to only shoot 3 shot groups, but I ended up pulling one shot with each bullet, so I shot another to make up for my mistake. To my surprise, the gun shot both bullets identically except for a slight difference in placement of the groups. I'll strech it out to 200 yds next week to see if one shows better.

Where did you get the 190grn Poly tip rounds?

400 Legend would be a good cartridge if they would have made it 1.8" it would have been much better and and still worked in a AR platform plus give bolt action users a little more room for powder....

I'm interested in hearing about the 400 x 1.8"….

Have you seen Ruger's spiral barrel? Available in 350 but i seen advertisment about a 450. Altimately i just had to buy the Ruger American 400 (not spiraled) because the Ruger 400 ia hot item in Michigan.
