Store front is closed not the online retail for their scopes
Aren't Arken, athlon primary arms made in china? Swfa hd is made at low in Japan. I'm also not sure they are supposed to be as robust as the Swfa but remains to be seen.I've owned a variety for many years. Currently have the 3-15 and a 20. At one time I bought the 10x regular and HD to compare (far from an optics expert) and honestly did not see the difference. Part of that is I find the standard SS glass to be very good. The HD did have much nicer turrets but not the value of the price difference to me. And I agree, they update models slower than Glock, and that is slow. Arken, Primary Arms, Athlon may not be as robust for very hard use but they are way up on what people want.
can you provide info?
Swfa web page is still up and taking orders-- BBB web page shows they are still active/in business.
I don't see anything via Google that shows they are out of business except rumors on multiple forums
Maybe your Google-foo is better than mine !
I would bet that the "closed" reference applies to the retail store only. At least, I hope so.View attachment 435029
Wow!! Somebody call them!
And I would add an illuminated dot to the 2.5-10x for the best "woods" scope on the planet. Yes, I know what site I'm on.If I were managing the company and wanted it to succeed, I would start by expanding the SFP hunting scopes. A 3-18x50 with illumination would be the first product.
Thank you for this reply. Right now I am having some bad misgivings about Arkin. I ordered a scope for my son in November, Arkin hit my credit card for the full amount of the scope. People do not answer the telephone there and "when" someone finally responded to my email they asked me to be patient. Well it is now February and I am still being "patient", however...still do not have the scope that I ordered and paid for nearly three-months ago. When I saw this post I immediately picked up on it as I am pretty much disappointed with Arken, figured I would ask for a refund and buy one of these scopes instead. We like Arken scopes, it is just that I am not happy with the performance of the customer service and how they have handled my transaction with them. So again that you for the heads up with this company. On another forum I heard some suspicions about SWFA closing down.
I do not know.
But I felt I needed to add this to my post.

That's a bummer, I loved that store.I live about 3 miles from the retail store. As mentioned by another poster, only the retail store is closed (has been for awhile). They went to an online only model. Been that way for maybe a year or so now.
Me too! Sure was nice being that close also. When I was in the store right before they closed, one of the sales guy told me they decided to go online simply because it was the bulk of their business anyway. They weren't losing money on the retail store but 85% of their business was already online. That's a bummer, I loved that store.
I ordered an Arken back in early November and December. Nov said 8-12 weeks and Dec said 6-8 weeks. I called and they said the first order is 2 weeks out.Thank you for this reply.
