I just picked up a Remington 700 Classic in 35 Whelen and was wondering if any one is reloading for it and if they would share their loads with me.

I'm looking at one of my 50 round caddies for 35 whelen ammo and the load on it is 220 speer fp
60.0 rl 15

the brass is converted win. '06 brass

my 35 whelen rifle is a ruger 77 hawkeye

Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately the 220 is far and few between. I do have some 200gr Hornadays, 225gr AB, 250gr PT and some 250gr Hot cores to play with.

The 35 cal bullets are around, but you may need to keep a bit of inventory as they are getting left out a bit in the rush to fill orders for more popular calibers. I just found a couple of boxes of the speer bullets the other day but perusing now I don't see any for sale.

The 225 ab should be just fine also with rl15, but you'll want to drop a full 10% for your start load.

Thanks for the info. I've been told that the Remingtons chambered for the 35 Whelen have a long throat/free bore which helps to keep pressures down. I may stick a Accu Bond in a fired case and jam the lands to see just how long it is.lightbulb

I was lucky to work at a gun shop that had close ties to Dupont when they owned Remington and I have the 8th 35 whelen classic to come off the line.It is the best all around cartridge I own .It shoots great with every bullet I have tried.I use 60 grs of BL-C[2] with the 220 gr .54.5 grs 4064 with the 225 accubond and the b-tip. 56grs of REL 15 for the 225 Part and 52 grs of REL 15 for the 250 gr SpeerI once took 5 of each bullet and shot it at the same target and had a 1.25 inch group.I hope your shoot as good

Thanks Pa Grizz. The original owner of mine was a collector of Remington Classics and never shot the rifle. I'm the third owner and the fellow before me put around 175 rounds threw it before he sold it to me. What part of Pa. are you located? I'm south of Gettysburg.
