338 WSM loads.

Gun is a Savage 16, was 270WSM and change to 338WSM
21" barrel, heavy, threaded for something down the road!
Been shooting RL17 powder with good results.
All bullets are 225gr with one 223gr HH.
Got some H1000 powder to try, is this a good powder or not for this round.
Let me know your data Please.

I'd not think to try H1K in the round. I used to run the round quite a bit. Had one on a Model 70 with a 21" Schneider on it. Stupid accurate for sure!

Dodz 338-06 won't touch it!
Right now 225AB doing 2760fps!
Going to build one of those on a 98 Mauser next.(338-06)

While it won't completely touch it, I've done quite a lot of work with the both of them and at sane pressures (and the WSM case hides pressure well) there is only 100 fps diff between the two from my experience.

To me, 100 fps just isn't enough to get excited over.

The 338/300 WSM is a fun short little bugger though
