H100v MIGHT not pressure out with a 250? If it doesn't, try RL17That's good news.... guess I best find some powder
Try using a magnum primer with H100v as well.

Hy100V is better if it will pressure out and is less sensitive to temp, but 17 is useful too.I have 17.... that's the powder I figured be the ticket.
Less velocity by 50' or more, but otherwise good.H4350?
Better order up some twinkiesIf I can hit 2850 with a 250 out of 20" barrel I'll be pushin purple twinkies.
the 240 dozer and 250 berger run the same speed in mine. they both pressure out at about 2910. Perfect fill with rl17 and h100v. I've had to go with slower powders in mine to get more fps. Like n560 works well with every bullet I have.Guys....parts are at the smith and should see it early December.
I sent a dummy with a 250 Berger and a 240 Dozer. Both seated with the boat tail body junction.1000 forward of the neck/shoulder junction. With the 240 Dozer this put the mouth of case covering the indent on the bullet, and both ogive were +- 3 thou of each other. With a 20" barrel, what powders would you all suggest? Guesses on velocity?
Cheers
Its pretty good temp wise and had good luck with it in my ,338 Sherman long action too. Its about .6 temp wise and will usually give as good or better velocity as RL17 only its a little slower. (about 3 grains)Do we like H100V? No experience with it personally, is it stable over temps? Does it produce consistent numbers for working up loads?
