I had actually cut that screw down before, but Ill give it a check. I wonder if I may have over torqued the front action screw and compressed the injection molded stock. thanks guys!

Easily done. Also watch the second scope mount screw from the front for length. It can cause this too. But again I feel a mechanical issue should do it all the time even hen dry cycled.
