Yes, it is an old thread and the 338 RCM lives on..... <grin>. Taking it on a cow elk hunt in Az Dec 10. Since I last posted on this thread, the 22" barreled sporter now sports a Trijicon Accupoint 3-9 with green center dot, weight of entire rig with sling is 7 1/2 lbs.

Good luck on the hunt. I've been toying with necking it down to 257 at some point
