yeah, hunting deer with my 338 win mag never bothered me, I just used a heavy bullet and dropped as much powder as my semi-auto would allow so that it would still cycle. I now have loads that are similar to a black powder rifle, with a bit more pop. Plus you get some braggin rights when having cocktails with those carrying 30-30's
