.338 Edge Improved?

Thanks guys for some information and some laughs. I have a 7 mm on a 338 rum and I use 7 mm rum brass to get that longer neck. BUT I have to trim after every shot. Therefore, I want the 40° improved shoulder to prevent so much trimming on my .338 Edge improved.

You've been pushing the envelope longer than some here have been alive. The cure for ignorance, and prejudice is experimentation, and this is what you do.

I do remember some magazine writer sued Winchester and Remington for their short fats.

I'm 80 and did one when I was 39 years old. I took a 378 Weatherby and shorten it to 2 1/4", necked it down to 7mm and called it "Short Fat Seven. Later I discovered Dan Lija did the same thing but he made his 2 1/2" Long for the case.

Kinda disappointed about the mistake. 132 gr 338 hp would be like a crazy fast flying ashtray!

I don't think there's much to be gained by improving it via shoulder angle and case taper. I did a 375 RUM-Imp and also moved the shoulder ahead I gained about 6.5gr of H2O capacity

It is not to increase case volume. It is to reduce trimming.

I use ignorant prejudice for lots of decisions. That's the weight I choose for my 7mm. In The original post I should have mentioned 213 grain bullet. Sorry for the confusion guys.

That should be a sweet "little" cartridge! A 132……should be a bit faster than "pedestrian"! memtb

If your just after reduced trimming look at 338 RUM data should be really close. I found about 3150 with a 215.

REDUCED LOADS? That's against my shooting religion.

338 RUM and Edge are so close it's silly. Load 'em however you want.
