With all the interest in the .338 Edge cartridge. How long do you think it will be before some manufacturer starts to make available correct head stamped brass or even loaded factory ammo?
Sometimes a great cartridge never gets placed into production so we will just have to wait and
see.
The 30/338 is one of those that won many long range matches and never made it.
The 7 STW took years before it was finally excepted.
The 338 edge is in the middle of the 338 cartriges and does not have it's own unique
spot (Some 338 are slower and some are faster) and to marketers that is important.
The STW was for many years the fastest 7mm and that's what landed it a place as a
factory chambering and head stamp.
The 30/338 was the balistic twin of the 308 Norma magnum so that all but killed a great
cartridge.
There are many other fine wild cats out there and they will never be excepted buy a factory
Most factory's would rather modify a case and call it there own than adopt Any wild cat .
But most people that have a custom rifle built would rather have something unique rather
than the norm.
It is nice to have the right head stamp on the brass, but being different is the American way.
