I started with Barnes Originals, tried the first X, the XLC, then TSX. I have some 50gr TTSX in .223 for wolf but haven't used any yet.
I've had quite a few of the narrow wound channel situations. Best to hit bones or they aren't impressive consistently. It wastes some meat, but if you use Barnes, that's the better choice for shot placement.
I don't choose them first for much.
