308 berger load

168 Berger Hybrid, 47.5grns of Alliant Power Pro 2000MR. 2570fps out of an 18" barrel. Groups really well! SD is a little high, but for all the farther I am shooting it, it's not a problem.

Very happy with Bergers in general - worth the $. Today's results - 168 VLD, 46.1 Varget, Lapua brass, CCI BR1. 2750 out of 20" 11.25/1 5R - .1gr over Lee's published max. w/no pressure signs, extremely consistent and .2 MOA @100. Could only verify longer range consistent impacts on 6" steel at 300.

I think I found the recipe for my gun.

43.5 gr Varget overall length 2.810
168 gr. Berger Hunting Bullet
Velocity 2710
1 hole @ 100 Holding 1.25" @ 300 and 2.00 @ 400 2.85 @ 500.
I will see what it does out to 950 as this is as long as I can shoot close to the house. I post results when I have them.
Sounds like you found the special sauce. May I ask your barrel length? I had a good node at 42.4 but was subsonic under 1K.

I thought I could go higher but was being careful, like I said no sign of pressure so far but in winchester cases 44.0 is real full I will have to seat bullet out alittle I think. Thanks for the info. I am hopeing to get velocity up around 2750 to 2800 don't know if I will be able to or not, 43.5 is running 2640@54 degrees out of my 24" barrel.
27-2800 in a 308 is smokin' w/168gr pills. I found a node at 46.1gr Varget w/168 gr Hornady ELDx - it is a compressed load. No pressure signs other than slight primer flattening, no heavy bold lift, etc. FPS right at 2650 in a 20" 5R bbl w/suppressor.
